Cisco Catalyst 3560 POST Output

Cisco Catalyst 3560 (WS-C3560-24TS-S )For those that might be interested, here are the tests that are run by a Cisco Catalyst 3560 during <acronym title="Power-On Self Test">POST</acronym>. This is from a brand new device, right out of the box, so this is the default output.

POST: CPU MIC register Tests : Begin
POST: CPU MIC register Tests : End, Status Passed

POST: PortASIC Memory Tests : Begin
POST: PortASIC Memory Tests : End, Status Passed

POST: CPU MIC PortASIC interface Loopback Tests : Begin
POST: CPU MIC PortASIC interface Loopback Tests : End, Status Passed

POST: PortASIC RingLoopback Tests : Begin
POST: PortASIC RingLoopback Tests : End, Status Passed

POST: PortASIC CAM Subsystem Tests : Begin
POST: PortASIC CAM Subsystem Tests : End, Status Passed

POST: PortASIC Port Loopback Tests : Begin
POST: PortASIC Port Loopback Tests : End, Status Passed

Now that you know what normal startup looks like, you should be able to recognize when something goes wrong.
