Cisco LogoI don't normally devote an entire post to things like this, but I received more than the usual number of EOS / EOL announcements today.

  • Cisco 7500 Series Router
The last day to order the Cisco 7500 Series Router is December 15, 2007. For service provider applications, customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 12000 Series Router. Customers may also consider the Cisco 7600 or Cisco 10000 Series Router as an alternative solution, depending on requirements. For enterprise WAN deployments, customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 7600 Series Router, the Cisco 7200 Series Router, or the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch.

On a personal note, I can say that I'll really miss the Cisco 7500 series router. I've worked on dozens of these routers over the last decade, and they have always served me well.
