Today is the day!

I've been working for several months to complete the transition off of Wordpress. After making a flurry of updates today, I decided now was as good a time as ever to finally pull the trigger.

This site started on Wordpress in 2007. Over the years, I've taken breaks from active development, but I've always come back to it when the mood strikes me.

A few years ago, I started dealing with regular MySQL OOMs. After dealing with that regularly, I started looking into using a site generator rather than Wordpress (and more importantly, all the baggage that comes with it). I eventually settled on Pelican.

And that's where we are today, I'm using Pelican to generate the site from individual markdown files. The HTML is super fast and site-wide changes are easy to make.

Here's to another 15 years!
